The Prince

Once upon a time there was a Prince who, through no fault of his own was
cast under a spell by an evil witch. The curse was that the Prince could
speak only one word each year. However, he could save up the words so that
if he did not speak for a whole year, then the following year he was allowed
to speak two words. (This was before the time of letter writing or
signlanguage.)

One day he met abeautiful princess (ruby lips, golden hair, sapphire eyes,)
and fell madly in love. With the greatest difficulty he decided to refrain
from speakingfor two whole years so that he could look at her and say "my
darling". But at the end of the two years he wished to tell her that he
loved her.

Because of this he waited three more years without speaking (bringing the
total number of silent years to 5).But at the end of these five years he
realized that he had to ask her to marry him. So he waited ANOTHER four
years without speaking.

Finally as the ninth year of ! silence ended, his joy knew no bounds.
Leading the lovely princess to the most secluded and romantic place in that
beautiful royal garden the prince heaped a hundred red roses on her lap,
knelt before her, and taking her hand in his, said huskily, "My darling,I
love you! Will you marry me?" And the princess tucked a strand of golden
hair behind a dainty ear, opened her sapphire eyes in wonder, and parting
her ruby lips, said:

Be A Lake

The old Master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and then to drink it. "How does it taste?" the Master asked. "Awful," spat the apprentice.

The Master chuckled and then asked the young man to take another handful of salt and put it in the lake. The two walked in silence to the nearby lake and when the apprentice swirled his handful of salt into the lake, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake."

As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the Master asked, "How does it taste?" "Good!" remarked the apprentice. "Do you taste the salt?" asked the Master. "No," said the young man.

The Master sat beside this troubled young man, took his hands, and said,

"The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains the same, exactly the same. But the amount we taste the 'pain' depends on the container we put it into. So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things ..... Stop being a glass. Become a lake!"

THE HIDDEN TREASURE

A man was exploring some caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found
a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had
rolled up some clay and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look
like much, but they intrigued the man so he took the bag out of the cave
with him.

As he strolled along the beach, to pass the time, he would throw the clay
balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could throw. He thought
little about it until he dropped one of the balls and it cracked open on a
rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone. Excited, the man started
breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure.
He found hundreds of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he
had left, then it struck him.

He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the
clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of
hundreds of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home thousands, but he
just threw it away.

You know sometimes, it's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe
even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like
much from the outside.

It isn't always beautiful or sparkling, so we discount it; we see that
person as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well
known or wealthy.

But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that
person by God.

There is a treasure in each and every one of us. The Bible says we are
fearfully and wonderfully made. I don't think he means just our physical
bodies. I think he means our spiritual selves, which are sometimes hidden
from others by the *earthen vessel*.

if you take the time to get to know that person, and if you ask the Father
to show you that person the way He sees them, then the clay begins to peel
away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

The Perfume . . .

As she stood in front of her 5th grade class on the very first day of the
school, she told the children an untruth. Like most teachers she looked at
her students and said she loved them all the same. However that was
impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in the seat was a
little boy named Teddy Stoddard.

Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he did not
play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy, and that he
constantly needed a bath. In addition, Teddy could be unpleasant.

It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in
marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then putting a
big "F" at the top of his papers. At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught,
she was required to review each student past records and she put Teddy's
off until the last. However when she reviewed his file, she was in for a
surprise.

Teddy's first grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready
laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners. He is a joy to be
around."

His second grade teacher wrote Teddy is an excellent student, well liked by
his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal
illness and life at home must be a struggle."

His third grade teacher wrote, "Teddy's mother's death has been hard on
him. He tries to do his best, but his father doesn't show much interest and
his home life will soon affect him if some steps are not taken."

His fourth grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much
interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and he sometimes sleeps in
class."

By now Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself.
She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents,
wrapped beautifully in bright ribbons and paper, except for Teddy's, whose
present was clumsy and wrapped in heavy brown paper, the he would have got
from a grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of
the other presents.

Some of the children started to laugh when she found the rhinestone
bracelet with some of the stones missing and a bottle of perfume that was
only one quarter full. But she stifled the children's laughter when she
exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of
the perfume on her wrist. Teddy Stoddard stayed on after school that day
just long to say, " Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my mom used
to." After the children left, she cried for at long time

On that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Instead she began to teach children. Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention
to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more
she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy
had become one of the smartest children in class. And, despite her lie that
she loved all the children the same, Teddy became one of her "pets".

A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling her that
she was still the best teacher he had ever had in his life.

Six years went by before she got another letter from Teddy. He then wrote
that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still the
best teacher he ever had in is whole life.

Four years after that she received another note saying that while things
had been tough at times, he still stayed in school, had stuck with it, and
would soon graduate with the highest honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that
she was still the best and most favorite teacher he ever had in his whole
life.

Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he
explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little
further. The letter explained that she was still the best and most
favourite teacher he ever had in his whole life. But now the name was
little longer ... the letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, MD.

The story does not end here. There was yet another letter that spring.
Teddy said the he met this girl who was going to marry.

He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was
wondering if Mrs. Thompson would agree to sit at the wedding in the place
that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom.

Of course, Mrs. Thompson did. And guess what, she wore that bracelet
- the one with several rhinestones missing. Moreover, she also remembered
to wear the perfume that Teddy's mother wore on the last Christmas they
spent together.

They hugged each other, and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Mrs. Thompson's ear,
"Thank you Mrs. Thompson for believing in me. Thank you so much for making
me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference."

Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back, "Teddy, you have it
all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I
didn't know how to teach till I met you."

You could have a Teddy standing in front of you and yet not realize it . . .

IF YOU ..

Your words, your dreams, and your thoughts have power to create conditions
in your life. What you speak about, you can bring about.

If you keep saying you can't stand your job, you might lose your job.

If you keep saying you can't stand your body, your body can become sick.

If you keep saying you can't stand your car, your car could be stolen or
just stop operating.

If you keep saying you're broke, guess what? You'll always be broke.

If you keep saying you can't trust a man or trust a woman, you will always
find someone in your life to hurt and betray you.

If you keep saying you can't find a job, you will remain unemployed.

If you keep saying you can't find someone to love you or believe in you,
your very thought will attract more experiences to confirm your beliefs.

If you keep talking about a divorce or break up in a relationship, the you
might end up with it.

Turn your thoughts and conversations around to be more positive and power
packed with faith, hope, love and action.

Don't be afraid to believe that you can have what you want and deserve.

Watch your Thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your Habits, they become character.
Watch your Character, for it becomes your Destiny.

The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than
you settle for.

"In the search for me, I discovered truth. In the search for truth, I
discovered love. In the search for love, I discovered God. And in God, I
have found everything."

Seven Things You Must Give to Others if You Want to Achieve Success!

by Chris Widener

A major part of the process of achieving success and living the kind of life
that you dream of is to give. Many people think that to get what you want
you have to take it. There is a universal truth though that the true path to
get what you want is to give. When you give, you get. What you sow, you
shall reap. If this is true, then what is it we must give? I'll show you the
way...

Give Others Your Honesty. The world we live in has a simple rule that most
follow: Lie when you have to. Unfortunately, this may make some people
wealthy but it makes us humans poor. To achieve success is to become wealthy
not only in money, but in character. To be successful, truly successful, is
to be able to attain your goals and keep your character at the same time!

"Honesty is the most single most important factor having a direct bear! ing
on the final success of an individual, corporation, or product." Ed McMahon

Mister McMahon is right, though others will tell you otherwise. Some people
will say, "You have to bend the truth to get ahead." Not true. Some of the
most successful people who have ever lived where honest people.

How about you? Are you honest in all things? The problem with little lies is
they become big ones. Lies spin out of control. You get caught in one lie
and you lie to get out of it etc.

In all things and at all times, give others your honesty.

Give Others Your Respect. Most of the time we give people respect based on
what they have done or what they have accomplished. We gauge whether or not
they are "worthy" of it based on what we know of what they have achieved or
who they know or are related to.

But I believe we should have a higher standard: We respect people not for
what they have done or for who they are related to or for what they can do
for us. Inst! ead, we respect people for simply being.

What would happen in our world, in our company, and yes, even in our
families if we started with respect for everyone else rather than making
them earn it? I think we would see that most people would live up to the
respect that we give them!

Give Others Your Vulnerability. We are taught to "be strong." And yes, we
should be strong. But we have also embraced something that I think keeps us
from having the kind of life that we long for. It is an idea that keeps us
from experiencing the kind of relationships that would bring deep meaning to
us. It is the idea of vulnerability.

"But Chris, make yourself vulnerable and people will step all over you!" It
is true that this will happen. But I have also seen that most people will be
drawn to you. They will help you. They will open up to you. You see, we are
all broken people inside. We all have secrets. Yes, everyone plays "the
poser" at some point in their lives, but when one lets down their veil,
others soon follow - and we all win.

Give Others Your Care. Too many people are running around this old earth not
caring about others. The days of "Look Out for Number One" and "Winning
Through Intimidation" are over! Let's bring about a new day when we can care
about others AND succeed!

Take the time to show people you care. Listen to them. Empathize with them.
Love them. Now, I don't mean that you have to go around hugging everyone -
that probably wouldn't fly in corporate America anyway - but we can take
some time to step back from business and be human! And I have found that
when we do so, our business succeeds as well!

Give Others Your Passion. There is nothing this world needs more than
passionate people. And people need passionate people. Living in this day and
age can be tiring. The hustle and bustle of it all can wear you down and
tire you out. Give your passion to others and fire them up.

Don't just be humdrum - be excited.! Give people all the energy you can
muster up. And you will find that energy reciprocal. They will get energized
and passionate. This in turn will fire you up more when you are already
charged and get you going altogether when you don't feel like moving at all!

Give Others Your Experience. We all have areas that we excel in and they are
usually areas that we have experience in. One of the things we can do to
make our lives more meaningful and be of utmost help to others is to show
them the way through the experiences we have.

Sometimes it will be what they should do: Shortcuts to take, people to meet,
etc. Sometimes it will be what they should not do: Shortcuts not to take and
people to stay away from! Whatever it is, we can be of service to others by
giving them our experience and ultimately it will make us all better!

Give Others Your Help. All in all, what we want to do is to help others. Zig
Ziglar says that if we will "help enough others get what they w! ant, we
will in turn get what we want." If we want to be successful, we should
consider ourselves servants of other people. What can we do to help them and
make them better?

If you want to live the life you have always dreamed of ask yourself if
you:

Give Others Your Honesty
Give Others Your Respect
Give Others Your Vulnerability
Give Others Your Care
Give Others Your Passion
Give Others Your Experience
Give Others Your Help

This is the true path to greatness and success, not only in business but in
life!

Those who achieve great things

Those who achieve great things are not any smarter or more capable than
others. They have simply decided to make use of what's available to them.

Those who achieve great things encounter challenges, obstacles and problems,
just as everyone else does. Achievers have simply chosen to work their way
through the difficult challenges, rather than be stopped by them.

Those who achieve great things experience plenty of setbacks and
disappointments. They have simply decided to take renewed determination,
instead of discouragement, from those disappointments.

Those who achieve great things have exactly the same amount of time
available in each day as does everyone else. They have simply committed to
making the most of each moment.

Those who achieve great things are not any different than anyone else except
for this. They decide to do it, and then follow through with persistent,
consistent action.

In this way, very ordinary people realize quite extraordinary levels of
achievement. In this way, you can do it too.

Answered Prayers

(found lotsa nice stories.. wad a waste not 2 post dem here)

A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on
it were able to swim to a small, desert like island. The two survivors, not
knowing what else to do, agreed that they had no other recourse but to pray
to God. However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to
divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man
saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its
fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren.

After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife.
The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a woman
who swam to his side of the land. On the other side of the island, there was
nothing.

Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day,
like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the second man still
had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife would
leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the
island.

The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second
man on the island. He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's
blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered. As the ship was
about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven booming, "Why are
you leaving your companion on the island?"

"My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them," the
first man answered.

"His prayers were all unanswered and so he does not deserve anything."

"You are mistaken!" the voice rebuked him. "He had only one prayer, which I
answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings."

"Tell me," the first man asked the voice, "What did he pray for that I
should owe him anything?"
"He prayed that all your prayers be answered."

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but
those of another praying for us.

The Shipwreck

(hmmm.. i'm still not typing my own blog.. paiseh Dear.. no inspiration to write wor)

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited
island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he
scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he
eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him
from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his
little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had
happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God,
how could you do this to me!" he cried.

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was
approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was
here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal,"
they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn't
lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain
and suffering.

Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground it just may be
a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

IF and WHEN

(this is a veri good story- cheers! -sm)

IF and WHEN were friends. Every week they met and had lunch. Their
conversation usually centered on all the things they were going to achieve.
They both had many dreams and they loved to talk about them.

This particular Saturday when they met, WHEN sensed that IF was not in a
great mood. As usual they sat at the table reserved for them and ordered
their lunch. Once they placed their order, WHEN questioned IF. "IF what is
wrong with you? You don't seem your usual cheery self?"

IF looked at WHEN and replied, "I'm not sure, I just don't feel like I am
making any progress. This last week I saw a course I wanted to take if only
I had the time to take it."

WHEN knew exactly how IF felt. "Yeah," replied WHEN, "I too saw a course and
I am going to register when I get enough money together." WHEN then said,
"well what about that new job you were going to apply for. You were so
excited about it last week, did you apply?"

IF responded, "If my computer didn't break down last week, I would have
applied. But, my computer is not working, so I could not type my resume."

"Don't worry about it IF, when you are ready another job will come through.
I have been thinking about looking for another job also, but I will wait and
when the weather gets nicer I will look then." WHEN then went on to tell IF
about his week, hoping that it would cheer him up a bit.

The man at the next table couldn't help overhear WHEN and IF. They both were
talking about when this and if that, finally he couldn't take it anymore.
"Excuse me gentlemen," the man said. IF and WHEN both looked at the man and
wondered what he wanted. The man continued, "I'm sorry, but I couldn't help
hearing your conversation. I think I know how you could solve your
problems."

IF smiled and thought, how could a complete stranger know how to solve all
of their problems. If only he knew. When he realized the challenges they
faced there was no way he could solve their problems! Curious, IF asked the
gentleman, "How do you think you can solve our problems?"

The gentleman smiled and said, "You only need listen to yourselves. It
reminds me of an old proverb:
'If and When were planted, and Nothing grew'."

IF and WHEN looked puzzled. The gentleman smiled and said, "Start counting
how many times you use the words 'if' and 'when'. Rather than thinking 'if
and when', start doing, take action, stop talking about 'if and when'."

IF and WHEN both looked surprised, and suddenly realized that what the
gentleman had said was so true. Both of them were guilty of thinking, acting
and living their life for the "ifs and whens". The gentleman left and IF and
WHEN's conversation changed. They made a pact that when they met for lunch
next week, there would be no "ifs and whens"; they would only talk about
what they accomplished

LIFE IS A THEATER

Invite Your Audience Carefully

Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives.
There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a DISTANCE.

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of, or at least
minimize your time with, draining, negative, incompatible,
not-going-anywhere relationships/friendships.
Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention.

Which ones lift and which ones lean?
Which ones encourage and which ones discourage?
Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill?
When you leave certain people do you feel better or feel worse?
Which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know or appreciate
you?

The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love and truth
around you...the easier it will become for you to decide who gets to sit in
the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of Your Life.

"If you cannot change the people around you, CHANGE the people you are
around."

Remember that the people we hang with will have an impact on both our lives
and our income. And so we must be careful to choose the people we hang out
with, as well as the information with which we feed our minds.

We should not share our dreams with negative people, Nor feed our dreams
with negative thoughts.
It's your choice and your life.....

It's up to you who and what you let in it......
